Who is correct? If there is a correct answer.

In Aug 09 I had a microdisectomey in the L4/L5, it was 30% in one solid piece, successfully removed, still had problems. Two weeks later I had surgery again due to a flesh eating bacteria in the wound track, which left a nice size wound to heal, I was unable to work for 3 months due to the job I do. The Neurosurgeron gave me 3 months recovery time and followed me. At 3 months I still had not regained my left calf/foot back so he said 1 year there may have been some nerve damage. I moved; had to get a new doctor to follow me. I was referred by my Primary to Ortho, I saw the doctor today. He was the most arrogant full of himself doctor I have ever encountered. He said my neuro was wrong and he would argue with him arrogantly face to face that I should have been released back to full duty at 6 weeks. Also I should be able to do everything from work, working out (squats included, running, jump roping, etc) and martial arts. It is apparent that I am not able to go up on the ball of my left foot, I still have shooting pain and all the other things that are going on. This ortho said that he sat in conferences listening to other doctors who's opinions/knowledge differ from his and apparently he didn't attend the same school he just laughs at them. He said he would not do anything for as far as work notes as I work in a job that I am consistenly walking and on my feet which causes alot of pain if I am on for 11hrs straignt, unless I get an MRI. He would not use the neuro's notes as he said the neuro had no clue what he was talking about and he trumphs him. I am going to see another doctor, but I am really upset by the rudeness and arrogance of this doctor. He put down alot of other doctor's and my neurosurgeon as well, whom I thought was awesome, great doctor and I would trust my life to him at any moment. I have to hurry up though my neuro's note runs out soon, for 8hr work days. I am not sure this is really a question as it is venting... any feedback would be great.

You may need a complementary surgery, if not done the recovery period can reach 18 months

I have seen another ortho, she is great. She did do a nerve test the S1 nerve is not firing right; I am slotted for a MRI with contrast. She is not sure what is going on as to whether I reherniated a disc or scar tissue internally around the surgery site is causing problems.

Oh yes, due to the nerved being compressed for almost 2 weeks, the nerve was damaged that is why the 1 neurosurgeon doctor changed my recovery time to a year.
