Can the raw vegan diet cure gastroparesis?

Hi doctor, i have just recently been diagnosed with gastroparesis(stage 1 mild) and ive been hearing alot that going raw vegan(fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds) can "cure" the disease. I would only go about 75% raw which means i could eat some cooked food with my dinner. Would it be safe? Thanks ahead of time!:)

And remember, diet is pretty individual -- what works for one won't necessarily work for another.  One problem with raw food diets is that people think anything is digestible raw, which isn't true.  You see all this raw kale and broccoli in salad bars now, but the stomach can't break down the complex fibers in these plants very well raw.  You can do it if you juice them or if you cook them, but eating raw is not as easy as advertised.  So take care here to do what suits you.

Hi there,
The gastroparesis diet helps reduce symptoms and maintain adequate fluids and nutrition. The diet should contain adequate liquids, provide additional calories wit restriction of fatty foods and oil .The diet must be tailored according to the individual patient and his degree of gastroparesis. In gastroparesis a doctor may recommend medicines to stimulate the stomach to contract. It is suggested to consult your attending physician and seek his advice. I hope you find this information useful.
Best wishes and regards!
