7 year old Hoarder?? OCD?

A'jalyn has struggled for several years with different obsessions. She has went to many doctors in different areas, and received many hours of therapy. She has been diagnosed with autism, OCD, and ODD. Daily life causes her extreme anxiety. Her obsessions have varied from tearing pieces of paper, to picking her skin, hair and nails off, and more recently a hospitalization for hitting her teeth out after hearing about teeth. We are at the end of our energy. We have limited resources in our area, and the next step will be residential treatment. This is our way of reaching out for answers and solutions. It is also our way of letting others in the same position know that they are not alone. I can only hope that this video will not only provide us with this, but others can learn from our journey. Just FYI, I clean A'jalyn's room every other week while she is gone. Her room is not dirty, just has lots of things. This is just a video to show her symptoms. I do not normally go in her room and get her upset like what happened in this video. I needed to record her beliefs in her objects. Here is a video of what she deal with daily..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIy8-LpEuWg

Thank you for your comment. It is very hard! I can't watch the video myself. I watched it once, and it ripped my heart out. I went to see her today, and it seems that she is doing a little better. The upped her Risperdal and added Zoloft. She was still having some compulsions, but not as bad. Thank you again for your support! :)

I did watch the video.  A'jalyn is definitely suffering and watching it made me very sad.  As a mom, I know this has got to be killing you inside.  I see that you posted that she pulled out a tooth and is now hospitalized.  My prayers are with her and your family.  This is such a tough situation to be in.  My sister was suffering at 7 with handwashing, germs, etc.  She didn't get any help because back them the doctor said it was "growing pains."  In any case, I think that she is where she needs to be and I wish you all the best.

Hi there.  I'm debating whether or not I can watch the video.  I'm not sure I want to personally see someone else's pain.  You as the parent, along with the doctors, will have to figure out what is best for your daughter.  If you have exhausted all other avenues and your daughter is a danger to herself, then you may want to talk to the doctors about some form of in-hospital treatment.  I know it is hard and nobody wants to be labeled as being "hospitalized" but sometimes it is what we need.  Good luck to you.
