OCD

I have severe OCD and I'm very poor. I have constant panic attacks and I'm worried that the stress could lead to severe medical conditions. On top of that I'm tired of constantly being on the edge of panic. I can barely eat because my food always seems tainted. Plus the tics I have from tourettes, I'm in severe need of help, but can't afford it, nor do I know where to look (for example, do I need a therapist, councilor, psychologist, psychiatrist, etc.) and even if I had help I'm terrified of medicine. Someone please help me find an affordable place to get help, somewhere in central Indiana. I've looked everywhere but all places charge too much. Maybe one of those psychiatric testing where it's free? Please help

Music does that - distracts from panic and gives panic, anxiety, depression, etc. an outlet in a way.  More musicians than most realize used their music as therapy.  None of this is to minimize the anguish you are going through - folks living in economic poverty, those on the "margins" tend to suffer from OCD too.

It helps somewhat. If my panic isn't too severe it'll take my mind off of it some what when I play. It also distracts me from doing certain habits.

Hi blink

Does your guitar playing help with the OCD?  Music helps me a lot with anxiety, depression, etc.  It's a sort of constructive form of OCD if such a thing exists.  If it matters, the phone number given in the posting above looks promising.

Thank you both a lot. OCD girl what's posted isn't even half of what 'm going through, it's much worse but I cut it out of the question because I didn't think people would read it if it was too long. I've had it since I was 7. I'm now 20. The first thing that happened to me was an urge to say everything twice, and it progressed from there. I'll update my journal, you can read more. Again, thanks everyone
