HUGE fear of parasites

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I would like to assume that this is a silly question that is entirely just my ocd freaking me out, but I can’t tell. I’m gonna try and keep this short because I feel it’s really stupid. Earlier today my dad had made some scrambled eggs and left them on the counter and at some point I asked if I could have the last of it after taking a small piece and eating it. As I grabbed the pan and went to take the last of it I noticed a fly fly away from it and my brain INSTANTLY was like…what if I just ate fly eggs… and I have a gigantic f-king fear of fly larvae (I cannot even say the word, or type it) and so I googled what would happen if I accidentally ate one, or an egg. Now I know what intestinal myiasis is. I am horrified. The thing is, the food wasn’t old. There was barely any left too. I keep telling myself I’m probably fine, and when I initially googled what would happen if that DID happen, it said I would be fine. But then I found out about that condition and I cannot for the life of me find a definitive answer on whether or not it’s “extremely rare” or “not uncommon.” I can’t stop thinking about this. I wanna throw up. I don’t know what to do. I have such an intense phobia of fly larvae that the very thought of this ever happening to me makes me want to die. I don’t know what to do.

Parasites are gross. Most of us want nothing to do with them. But if you have recurring thoughts of fly parasites or any others, that's the problem. A fleeting thought? Fine. But if you think about it over and over and you keep checking and needing reassurance, that's the issue. What are you supposed to do to overcome it? Nothing. If you get a parasite, you get a parasite. It won't kill you. Uncertainty is something we have to learn to live with and you have to view the thought as not fact. Just a rando thought and stop trying to control anything. Have the thought. Say so what and get on with your life. That's the only way to make it go away. Seek help if you can't cope. ERP or exposure response therapy is the gold standard and meds can help too. good luck
