Phobias, OCD... head lice?

Hello,

I have a history of OCD, and I have lately developed an intense fear of contracting something (like diseases or colds). Recently my scalp has been quite itchy, and the back of my neck and ears are red, but I have no flaky dandruff. My father believes that it is an allergic reaction to something that I ate, but I eat the exact same thing every day, so I have ruled that out...

I have jumped to the conclusion that I have lice. I am 19, take very good care of my hygiene and clean my surroundings religiously, so this is obviously one of my worst fears. My father purchased one of those metal head lice combs, and when I used it, I have found black "blobs" after running it through my hair. That said, I have seen online photos of Louse excrement and of the louse itself, and this looks nothing like it. I have recently dyed my hair black, so is it possible that the hair dye is coming off on the comb? I am terrified and am close to shaving off all my hair.

I suppose I just want to make sure that this is not just my OCD convincing me that this is lice..

Thank you

See a doctor, and as for the fear, it is likely you have manifested normal fear into the personified form of disease, and if you don't have lice, it could be the power of suggestion, you are afraid of the diseases and so you think you have them, see a doctor and see a psychologist, I hope you feel better.
