OCD thoughts feeling real

Hi I'm pretty new to this site and was just looking to see if anyone has been through thoughts like this or similar and how it played out . To give a little bit of background , I've dealt with ocd since I was 16 ,I'm 27 now and have had about 4 bouts with serious ocd states . I've managed to get through them with meds and cbt in the past . I made the unfortunate decision when I was feeling better to lower my dose of medication without doctor supervision and have fell back once again . I started to get the thoughts about people not being real ex, like I'm the only real human , as I've had before and while reading a site looking for information I came across a post where someone listed popular obsessions and I read one that said fear of people you love changing into other people and that set off a whole new obsession . I wondered to myself how that could possibly happen so my ocd came up with maybe ghosts take over people you know and I can't get it out of my head , I'm just scared because I can't  come up with a answer good enough to let go of this thought . Its like I have two seperate brains fighting against eachother , one knowing this thought is impossible and irrational and the other one thinking it's possible and feels as if there's a chance it's real .  I was just wondering if anyone ever had an obsession like this or an obesssion that you never saw an end to and how it played out for you . I know asking for reassurance isn't good for dealing with ocd but I just thought if I heard of someone else getting over it , it may help me have some hope . Sorry for making this long I just wanted to give you some back ground . I appreciate any feedback or advice

I always love your advice , I just hate how my brain can't rationalize how I irrational and unrealistic it is , but hey I guess that's ocd ... It's also a bit scary people thinking I have wrong diagnosis , which I'm 90 percent sure it's ocd , hope everything's going well for you jgf25 , your a great person for helping people as much as you do

What OCD obsession isn't weird.  We just keep plugging along until we find one that we can't easily get closure on.  That is just who we are.  The sooner we all learn that, the better we will be.

After that last comment I'm a little worried to See what others think lol , I'm pretty sure it's ocd , I've been through every ocd obesssion before just this one is weird , but i don't believe it deep down I just doubt it and I think that's the theme of ocd

No never had a hallucination and have been diagnosed by a psychologist and psychiatrist ... I've had a lot of obsessions before that are directly related to common ocd themes , just this one is a little off . Plus I know it's weird so I would rule out other mental illnesses

Ya I wrote you a personal message , and yes you did answer and I really appreciated your advice , I'm still just struggling pretty bad with it and was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience of thoughts , it just seems like everyone's thoughts are about harming ocd or homosexual ocd ... I'm just feeling isolated with my weird thoughts and scared they won't leave ...
