I have had similar complications with the Hemicap for the MTP joint. Has anyone has any success in relieving the pain? I do not have diabetes. I have been to five doctors (including the Mayo clinic).
Hi again,
Do you know if after 9 months I should still be experiencing this pain if everything went well? I had no physical therapy - when I asked the doctor in August, he said it was unnecessary.
I again thank you.
Tonice
Hello, I am so sorry that I had never seen your answer to my question back in December. I suppose that I never received or saw an email telling me that I had a post. .. I am still with pain and the toe still gets locked. No matter if it is a low heel or sneaker - it hurts.
As you have suggested I am going to call my doctor and ask for some tests. In fact every test you have suggested I shall ask for.
No I have no diabetes.
I will keep you informed and my deepest thanks for caring.
Bye
Hi,
How are you feeling now?
I feel there is some post-operative complication like Malunion or non-union or an Infection/Osteomyletis.
Did they do an x-ray after the surgery? Have they done x-ray now? If so, what is the report like?
Do you suffer from diabetes?
I think you should be started on pain killers.
A definite re-evaluation of the case is needed by same orthopaedician or may be a re view consultation. Imaging has to be planned.
They should be doing blood test like Complete blood count and sugar test to rule out any infection or diabetes.
Physiotherapist needs to be involved, to start early physical therapy.
Keep me informed about further line of management and about your discussion with the surgeon.
Bye.
