Comminuted Tibia and also Fibula : Help
Please tell me what your opinions are on this? It’s going to be a year to recovery? How will they correct this? Do I need to worry about blood clots? I’m a mess since doing this literally in the parking lot of the hiking trail on a root system. Any help or encouragement appreciated:

CLINICAL INDICATION:
Fracture
TECHNIQUE:
Multiple axial CT images of left ankle were obtained without contrast administration. Reformatted images in the coronal and/or sagittal plane(s) were generated from the axial data set to facilitate diagnostic accuracy and/or surgical planning.
Total DLP (Dose-Length Product): 297.38 mGy.cm. Please note: The reported value represents the total of one or more individual components during the CT acquisition on this date and at this time, and as such, the same value may appear in more than one CT report depending on the interpreting/reporting physicians.
COMPARISON:
Radiographs 3/18/2022.
FINDINGS:
Comminuted fracture of the distal posterior tibia with intra-articular extension into the tibiotalar joint. The fracture also extends medially, to the posterior aspect of the medial malleolus. Small bone fragments are seen along the medial distal tibia. Tiny bone fragments are seen at the distal aspect of the medial malleolus. Avulsion fracture of the anterior inferior lateral tibial plafond partially comminuted oblique fracture of the distal fibula extending to the lateral malleolus. There are several small fracture fragments of the anterior aspect of the lateral malleolus. There is mild widening of the tibiotalar joint anteriorly and medially. No significant interval change in alignment since the previous radiographs.
No other fracture identified. The talar dome is intact.
Mild soft tissue swelling and subcutaneous stranding is present, apparently anteromedially. The posterior tibialis tendon is in close proximity to the posterior distal tibial fracture.
IMPRESSION:
Comminuted fractures of the distal tibia involving the posterior malleolus and medial malleolus with avulsion fracture of the anterolateral tibial plafond.
Oblique mildly displaced partially comminuted distal fibular fracture involving the lateral malleolus.
Posterior tibialis tendon in close proximity to the posterior distal tibial fracture.
