Depression and Anti-depression meds

My question is; How common is depression related to Back injury patients? And is there any evidence that taking anti-depression medication reduces the symptoms from having chronic back pain?

I have been taking these meds for a short duration now and find that I seem to feel alittle bit better when taking them.  Maybe mentially anyway.

Thank you for your time

Depression has been known to make some people's back pain worse, so taking an anti-depressant may help with that as well.

I had terrible shoulder pain for about 2 years with Major Depression, and after caving in and finally taking anti-depressants, my only complaint is that I didn't start 1 year and 11 months sooner than I did!

It also took away all of my shoulder/back pain. Now it is only sore after I exercise, which is normal and good. :)

Good luck, and for your sake I hope it helps!

Hello Dear,
Usually anti depressants are prescribed to patients with back pain ,as these medicines allay anxiety and relieve pain by relaxing the muscles. You should take these only if prescribed by your physician.
