The diagnosis from the MRI - "undisplaced complex tear in the medial meniscus at the junction between the body and posterior horn on the medical meniscus"
I have flare ups where my knee swells and I am in much pain and discomfort. I take anti inflamatory pills, elevate my leg, ice it. On a daily basis I ice my knee at the end of the day before going to bed. I have also been going for physio for the past 2 months to keep my leg muscles strong. I will be going back to the gym this weekend and start working out - any suggestions on what to avoid doing?
What type of conservative treatment would you suggest please?
Thank you again
Arthroscopy is both for diagnosis and treatment.
Ask your orthopaedic surgeon about the reason why he is advising arthroscopy? If it is for diagnosis then ask for an MRI.
If it is for ligament repair or some other joint issues then try conservative treatment and if it fails then consider arthroscopy. Understand your present diagnosis and you should understand the whole problem before considering a scope.
Take care!
