Knee Swelling and severe pain

Okay,

So about 2 months ago I fell from about oh, 3-3.5 feet in the air stright down on only my left knee. Since then I have had massive swellling and severe pain. Well, eaerlier this week I figured I could do some stuff like run and it would be okay since everything had kinda of subsided. I guess not. I have a large amount of swelling, massive pain, loss of mobility, stiffness. I can't get it to stop when I sit down or rest; in fact it hurts worse. Seering pain shoots through my knee joint and down the sides of my knee. Have I dislocated my knee? Or is it something like a severe strain?

Thank you both for replying.

My Doctor has referred me to an Orthopedic Surgeon. At first, my Doctor thought I had fractured my knee cap, or the tip of my tibula. Unfortunatley, X-Rays neither confirmed or denied any such thing. So now I am waiting to see the Orthopedic Surgeon.

Hi, please get yourself investigated (MRI), avoid sitting with legs hanging down and use cushion below legs during sleep. Tie crepe bandage over knee. Take pain killers (anti inflammatory drugs) regularly and consult orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible as this could be meniscus or ligament injury.

hi BellaRose18
Did u visit any orthopedician after u had a fall, that is 2 mths back? If not , u should do it now!
As of now, pls avoid sitting cross-legged. It could have been of some help had u mentioned your age. Anyways, If presently u have any swelling, apply some ice and rest your knee as much as is possible. visit your orthopedician as early as you can.
take care.
thanx...
