July 2017 was in a motorcycle accident. I was hit from behind. Immediately after when I was conscious I felt a horrible burning sensation in my right leg. I was told I had a hematoma on my right thigh. They started me at the lymphodemia clinic . Going every other day getting my leg wrapped and doing physical therapy. None of it was helping. This is after I keep getting the run around about what was wrong with me. A Dr. at the would center decided to come have a look and decided to drain it. First drain was 600cc. Went back in a week had another 100+cc drained. After a week and half it started filling up again with me wearing compression. My primary Dr told me I needed to get up to Mayo. It is now Oct 2. 12 weeks after the accident. Went to the Emergency Room They did some test and found I had a Morel-Lavallée Lesion and was going in for surgery the next morning. I had a 38x4x10 capsule which was removed. I had 12 more surgeries from infection with three different tunneling appearing. Each time I was losing more and more of my leg. I finally sealed up March 5 2018.
I can not find any info on post Morel-Lavallée lesion. I was told I was sealed up but also I would never be 100% again and will run into issues. I would like to know if there has been any studies of the issues after this kind of injury. I still can not walk correctly and this last week I had to go in for a MRI because I’m having so much pain, numbness and burning.
Does anyone know anything about this injury after effects?
Thank you
