Post-flexor tendon repair complication?

It's been 8 weeks since I had surgery to repair a cut flexor tendon and nerve in my index finger. The cut was between my hand and middle knuckle. I am able to bend that knuckle but not the tip. At first the tip could move a little, but now I have NO control in it. Is this a sign I should be concerned enough to 'move up' my next Dr.s appt.?? ...or is this normal?  I've been reading about tendons pulling apart after surgeries, but since I can bend the knuckle BETWEEN the original cut and the tip, that didn't make sense. Thanks.
