Question about my wife's post op hip arthroscopy.

My wife had arthroscopy on her right hip for labral repair, cam and pincer osteoplasties, iliotibial band release/lengthening, trochantenic bursectomy, air arthrogram.  She is several weeks out of surgery and is still having quite a mentionable amount of pain.  This morning she developed a very severe sharp pain part way down her thigh when ever she makes a stepping motion with that leg.  Has any body experienced this or had a similar procedure done and can help me to figure out her approximate healing time for this?? TIA
