Will pocket of soft tissue over hamstring tear go away?

About a year ago, I tore my hamstring in two places.  The more severe tear was above the back of my right knee.  I had PT on it.  In therapy, and as of today, I continue to have what feels like a pocket, or snack bar size of very soft tissue over the former tear.  It seems to not be as prevalent when I stand, but as soon as I sit, it's there, and does not go away.  Some days it feels larger (almost like a baseball!), some days, not so much.  It feels very soft, either fatty, or even filled with liquid? Just describing the feel of it.  Is my tear still in the process of healing?  It will be 1 year this May since I tore it.  I've been fairly active with it all year from swimming, walking on sand at beach, long walks, jogging on treadmill a few miles, swimming laps, yard work, carrying moderately heavy items using legs to lift up, etc.  I wonder if I should see the Dr. about this, or my PT?  Give hamstring more time to heal?

So, it doesn't hurt but you just have this pocket sensation? Was this initially a complete tear or partial tear? If you became active before it was fully healed, it may never have healed properly.  If you have pain, I'd see your doctor.  And even if you don't have pain but it 'just doesn't feel right', I'd get it checked out.  You clearly are an active person and you don't want something to become more and more limiting as you get older.

Thank you for answering...Correct.  Does not hurt at all.  It was a partial tear.   Yes, I had PT where I did exercises and massage on the hamstring as it was in the healing process. Plus I walk to work, and played in 3 softball games after getting clearance from my Dr., so I may have overdid it as it was healing.  I have continued to run, swim, play sports with my kids on it, and it feels great, just wonder about the pocket.  I may have it checked out to settle my curiosity.
I would do that.  Get it checked. Good news is there doesn't seem to be any effect from it for you.  Let me know what the doctor says!
