pain and swelling after removing needle from under foot

A few weeks ago I stepped into a needle.
After 2,5 weeks!  the needle bit was finally removed from my foot through local anaesthesia in the foot ( very painful) and by cutting it out.I received 2 stitches ,which I had for two weeks. They were removed 2 days ago. I thought I might be able to walk a little but this still proofs to be painful, So I  still have to go with a walking stick. I also have a heamatoma /crust like apparence  which is quite hard, the nurse said it would disappear after a while. I also have oedema on top and especially under my foot. How long is this  healing going to take?  I am getting a bit worried and frustrated as I am not able to go properly, I  have been going on my toes for weeks now. The foot feels stiff.
