spinal fusion in 14 year old girl

My daughter has spondylolisthesis L4/L5.  She has been treated with a brace (didn't work) and non-fusion surgery (didn't work).  Her doctor is now recommending fusion.  If anyone has had any experience with this or has any advice, I would appriciate it.

I would consult a few specialists. That is such a significant surgery at such a young age, I would want to speak with several doctors before committing to that. Begin with some universities to see if they have any promising new developments.

As wannabenana suggested, the Ortho forum is a good start.
