ulnar hand pain and weakness

I have recently started having dull intermittent pain and weakness to the ulnar side of my left hand.  I am unsure of its stability when holding things, such as my 21 month old child.  I also have a radial ganglion cyst approx 1/4 " in diameter.  I have no pain on the radial side of my hand.
What should I do to determine what this is and the best treatment for this.
Thanks

Hello!,

The ulnar pain may not be related to the ganglion cyst but sometimes the cyst compresses on the median nerve branches in the skin which give sensory and motor supply.
The ganglion cyst may cause complications in the future so discuss with an orthopedician the best cure for your cyst.

1) When the ganglion wall is thin the cyst can be compressed to express the fluid out so that it is absorbed and this is the least invasive treatment.
2) It can be aspirated but the orthopedician has to make sure that the redial artery is not passing nearby so that it will cause complications
3) Surgery is the best option and arthroscopy is better as it will leave a smaller incision.

Take some pain killer for the pain and you can wear a splint till you visit an orthopedician for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Take care!

I would just go see an orthopedic doctor and get it checked. The ganglion can cause weakness in your wrist.

Wear a splint and go see a doctor.
