Ooohh - I like this! More? Please?
I had an emotionally abusive childhood, and my escape was to pack a lunch and disappear into the woods for the day, enjoying the wildlife, singing to myself, thinking hard...I think I was ready to leave home by the age of 10 and live in a tent out in those woods. God knows how I would support myself other than fishing and eating nuts and berries! I hadn't figured that out, yet!

I do love your painting. I had a similar background and used painting as a way to escape from the family. I love to paint trees, sunsets, water, and people loving each other. Will you put more paintings up for us to see? Charley
I like to paint all animals. I guess it starts with my childhood. I grew up in such an abusive home I got more kindness from animals. I started to pretend I was an animal.
Like Jane Goodall, who I met when I was in College, I would watch animals for hours. I find every gesture wonderful. I have a large photograph I bought from a New York photographer of Jane Goodall in my den.
Here I have my three dogs. My two cats. A colony of bats. Squirrels. Deer and Birds of all kinds. My husband Mike likes animals as much as I do.
The bright colors and animals are a world I created for myself.
I photograph the animals I paint, make my own frames and paint whimsical backgrounds. I paint the hairs individually.
Alex,
So good to see you and your art here. Did you have a particular animal you liiked to paint more than others? I would love to have the talent to do this... thanks for sharing. -L
I'm impressed. I'm artistically challenged but I know what I like and I like this painting.
We need to see some more of your work!
