ABDOMINAL/PELVIC CT SCAN RESULTS

I just got the results back of a ct of the abdomen and pelvis without and with intravenous contrast medium, 100 cc of optiray 320.  I want to know if I should be worried by it.  I wasn't given much information and doctors sometimes act as if they don't have time or want to talk to me.  I know my doctor is busy but I have been suspecting that I have Cancer for some time and am worried now. I had the ct because of pelvic and abdominal pain and bloating and a history of PCOS in my Sister and myself. If anyone can make heads or tails of this report I would greatly appreciate it. The report reads as follows:

PROCEDURE AND FINDINGS: Pre and post contrast axial images were obtained.
the liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, adrenal glands and both kidneys are normal. here is no abnormal contrast enhancement seen within these organs.

The stomach, small and large bowel including the appendix are normal.

The uterus is normal in size and contour. the endometrial stripe cannot be clearly delineated due to streak artifact from beam hardening. the right ovary is 4x3x2 cm in size, and the left is 3.5x 2.5x 2.5 cm. no cystic lesions are seen within the ovaries.

The retroperitoneal structures are normal. there is no lymphandenopathy or mass lesion.

The abdominal wall is intact. there is no evidence of hernia.

The osseous structures are unremarkable except for the severe degenerative change of L5-S1.

A lung bases, visualized portions of the heart, pleura and pericardium are normal.

CONCLUSION:
1. No acute abnormalities are seen.
2. The pelvic structures appear normal.

I was informed to follow up with my ob but don't know if I should be worried by the findings of this ct.  Could this mean cancer or hyperplasia?  Please if anyone has any answers please let me know because I sincerely want to be prepared for any bad news before I am able to make my appointment.

I don't see anything either that mentions any cancer at all!!!!

It sounds like you are NEGATIVE for any cancer!

you must follow up w/your doctor though...the radiologists are not allowed to give you the results, only your doctor can do confirm that this written report is negative for cancer......and I am not a doctor either,  but from the info. you provided to us,  I see & understand, you do not have cancer!
That is great news!

I should be doing my CT scan sometime this month....I have to do them every 4 months as well as CA-125 bloodwork....I get the results of the CA-125 next Tuesday..wish me luck!

Again, I Hope you see your doctor to get confirmation of your results...
  Be well!
