Best time for CA125

As you know my mom is stage IV OVCA, my maternal grandmother had uterine cancer possibly OVCA as well and my cousin (mom's neice) was 33 when she was diagnosed stage 3C OVCA, so my Dr. has been doing CA125 tests on me every 6 months.  When is the best time in my cycle to have the test done, my Dr. says I am starting early menopause and my last CA125 was 6.6 up from 4.5 had both of those tests right after my menstral cycle.  My mom's CA125 was 9 when she was diagnosed.  One other question, is anybody's CA125 ever zero?

My sister has a friend who had stage III and her CA 125 was over 4,000 after four rounds of chemo her CA 125 is a 4.  Lowest I've heard of.  Mine currently in 10.5 after surgery and one round of chemo I am hoping to go lower.  I'll keep you all informed.  My doctor says anything under 30 is normal, but she wants it as low as possible and she wants it to stay a constant number.  Hope this helps

Hi , I have heard that its best to take ca125 after your period in pre menopausal women as your period could raise the reading . Not heard of anyone with 0 ca125  mine was 500 at highest and 7 at lowest .   Angie
