Caelyx has been great so far : )

Hi,
i have advanced Ovarian Cancer stage 3.

My very first treatment was Carboplatin and Taxol which unfortunately my tumors did not respond, infact they had grown after 3 sessions.

My second treatment which i am currently on now is Caelyx, i am close to having my 10th session.

Luckily for me i have had no side effects other than tiredness during and on the day of having treatment.

My CA 125 has dropped from 1198 since November and is now 388. Last month it had dropped to 265 but since then i have had a urine infection and hopefully that is the only reason my CA 125 went up slightly.

Also my tumors have not grown and have stayed stable.

I know not all treatments are right for everyone, but so far this treatment has been more positive for me than anyone ever thought it could be.

Stay strong and be positive

XX

Monday 20th went very well had my 10th Caelyx and my CA125 has dropped again to 351.

Congratulations on your success with Caylex. That is one I have not been on yet and will surely mention to my Dr.

Hi Chemoqueen,

That is great news about Caelyx especially for us ladies who will need chemo indefinitely.  The lack of side effects is a huge plus so thank you for sharing that with us.

Congratulations on your success with caelyx!  Ten treatments is alot with no side effects.  A friend of mine was on it for about a year and a half where her tumors stayed stable.  I wish you continued success!

Thanks for sharing this...my doctor mentioned that my next chemo of choice would be caylex (which, I believe is the same thing or similar to Doxil) I'm glad to hear you don't have many side effects from it. My doctor said it's just like doxil, but not as toxic and you have fewer side effects.
I wish you continued success...glad you found this forum!
