CoQ10 / Coenzyme Q10 Article

I finally threw together this article...hopes it helps everyone who was asking about this a week ago!  There really needs to be some trials and research on this supplement for ovarian cancer.  Print it out and talk to your oncologist about taking it with your conventional therapy.

CoQ10, even without the research on Ovarian Cancer, has proven useful to take with Tamoxifen and Doxil / Doxorubicin.

It's good to see you on the forum again. I hope you're healing up. My good friend, a pharmaceutical sales person swears by arnica gel. And she took the homeopathy arnica along with the gel. She cracked ribs horseback riding. And another time her nose. I take turmeric. Leslee may want that.

oooh maybe I need to add that to the article!  *supposedly* you don't absorb that much, that's why (I assume) the 390mg+ has better effects than say 90mg.  Now Life Extension (www.lef.org) has a 50mg version but it is super bioabsorbable or something like that.  I think that has some promise, their 50mg is similar to something like 150 or 200mg (if I recall correctly from their article) because it gets absorbed in the bloodstream better.

I guess the key is how much you can get in your system for the effects seen in the research, being 300/390mg+.  If you can do it with a smaller, more bio-absorbable, version I'm all for it.

I agree, too bad not by IV...honestly, that may be the big 'missing link' for all these supplements.  You absorb only so much by the gut (for example only a fraction of the mg's in pain medication taken orally gets absorbed, that is why you take more mg orally than you do via IV).  Like Lentinan is just a beta-glucan but it can't be absorbed orally (like Maitake D-Fraction), but it does good via IV.  Heck, Maitake D-F does better IV (but the oral absorbtion is not too far off IV that's why it's so revered because it can also be taken this way).

We got plenty on the horizon that can and should be investigated via IV:  DIM/I3C, Genistein (well that one is via Phenoxodiol but the company is promoting tablets than their IV version), Ginger, etc.  We know of so many that work when put directly on ovarian cancer cells effectively, but the patients are stuck with the oral versions and the analogs (chemo versions) are years away.

Good article. Anything alternative I find so interesting and gives me hope. I wish they could give it to you by IV. How much do you absorb when taken orally.
