Finally a decent doctor!

Hello all! I have not posted in a while but trying to keep up with all the threads. Boy if you miss a few days it's hectic. Anyway want you all to know that doctor #4 is the charm for me.
He has the medical initials of D,O.,F.A.C.O.S. Now I don't know what all the initials stand for but the first two. Doctor of osteopathic medicine (one who apply the philosophy of treating the whole person to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, disease and injury.) All I know is that he really listened to me decribe my all my pain and believes it is not in my head. He barely looked at my two tvus reports or my two ct scan reports just told me to explain what was going on with me.
How wonderful! Even though he had a waiting room full of patients and I was trying to hurry he said slow down. I actually almost walked out before seeing him as it was an hour and a half past my appt time.  Guess he is worth it. Two ladies I spoke to in the waiting room were very happy with him.
So My lap is scheduled for May 5th with the intent to remove adhesions and find out what the heck is going on in there with the illusive mass/cyst that is there one minute and not the next. I'll let you all know after surgery! This just might be the kind of doctors we need for all our women trouble. Oh his specialty is colorectal, gynecological, urologic, oncologic and general surgery so guess that is a big plus also. I'm just happy to not get pushed off again. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless!!

Hey dum I'm  located in MO.
Hi Mary and thanks. Yes I've felt like slapping a couple of my doctors or better yet saying can I have my Co-pay back you've just wasted MY time!! Then they wonder why people don't want to go to the doctor in the first place!!!
The cyber parties sound like great fun. Between my son and my nephew I can't get near the computer on the weekends but I have read thru the parties and still enjoy though I'm not there "at the time." Also just a side note..when first reading your comments I thought you sounded so much like a friend of mine and then seen you had the same first name and last initial I was like "it is Mary!" I was thinking i'm going to call her and then came along a thread where you said where you lived and was like nope not the same Mary. But you have the same kind and caring heart and soul and your posts sound so like her. She is such a wonderful person as are you.
HUGS,
Darlyn

Yes, I had dermoids.  I had laproscopy done, but my dr. said that if he had know just how big they were (softball sized) he would rather have opened me up.  He could not since I was in an outpatient surgery center (thank you insurance company!)  Anyway that was 12/21/05.  I have a new cyst growing on the liitle bit of ovary I have left and my dr. says it looks like he is going to have to take everything, which he could have if I was in a real hospital.  So now the ins. co. that thought it was so smart and was going to save money is really going to have to pay.  Serves them right!  Anyway, I am glad to help in anyway that I can.  I know how it feels to be scared and not know what is going on.  It helps to know others that have been there before.  I pray that it is all good for you from now on.  Godspeed

Hi Tascha, Yes it is ridiculous! I am just so glad i found this site! I believe you answered my first post. Thanks so much!!! I haven't posted since because I just can't seem to put all my thoughts in writing without rambling but I read often. I was sick for a while and trying to catch up on work so missed a few days and couldn't believe how Many threads went up. Boy the more I missed the harder it was to catch up. I was surprised and how many new people have found this site. It's wonderful that you and the other battalion members hang around and give comfort daily. You are all truly wonderful! I believe you had the dermoids right? Which surgery did they do? I have tried to backtrack thru the threads but it's crazy with the amount of posts that go up daily now. I am scheduled for laproscopic but he said he might have to open me up. I was planning on using vac time but wonder if I'll need more. It is so wonderful to know that others out there have the same trouble and it's not in our heads!!
Hugs,
Darlyn

I'm so glad you waited it out and found a good doctor.  I think D.O's are the greatest--treat the whole person not just the parts.
Congrats. Hope the outcome is good.

Just thought I'd give my history as it's been awhile since I poasted. January tvus-paraovariancyst measuring 4.81x3.1x4.6cm with a solid irregularshaped mass. Also an irregshaped mass measuring 1.6x5cm. follow up in 4-6wks if persists ca125. (which was never mentioned to me) 2nd tvus on Feb 1oth states 18x14mm follicle with increased flow consistent with hormaonal cyst. (this on right side the two from Jan were left side.)
Left side has fixed adnexal area stuck in large 4.1x2.5 adhesive pocket. vaginal cuff seen in long & trv axis. No follow up needed. So when I call to get these reports which was quite a hassle and question it all I am told the free floating pocket of fluid with solid mass had resolved and the other area of concern they concluded was scar tissue as it was stuck in adhesive pocket that was wrapped around my colon. UHH can they tell that from ultrasound. So I go to the GI doc who orders a ct scan that reads there is a thick walled cystic mass present in right hemipelvis measuring 5.0x4.9 cm in dimension. This is probably of ovarian origin and further evaluation of pelvic sonogram is suggested. There is also free fluid in the pelvis.
OK my tvus was just ten days before. So GI sends me back to Gp who when I asked if I should take this new info to ob/gyn suggests surgeon I stated above. Whew! So to all the newbies out there keep pushing the doctors because the pain doesn't go away. Once again I'll post you all on the RS and let you know the results.
