First Reply

A thread came up on the Battalion site about who replied to your first post.  Everyone seems to remember, some without searching the archives on this site!  MickeyVicki was a definate first responder!  She hit this site the first time when the original moderator, Doctor, suddenly disappeared.  This Patien to Patient forum was, actually, a happy accident.  Exactly when that was is in my own exensive archives and I can look it up but I consider Mickey our Pioneer.  Have not heard from her in awhile and hope she is well!
My first ost was from Fancy1972 (Louella) who's first surgery was canceled due to Katrina.  Big drag but Lou and SonieK, my other surgery Cyster, joined the 99% club with me.  Sonie had to survive MRSA postOp and handle her six kids at the same time!  She did though!
So who replied to your first post?  The old Legacy site has had a passionate week and will do no harm to stop and get our bearings.  MV

I haven't been here for so long...I do remember this is where I got my strength, though.  Wow, what a great group of women.  You didn't even know me, but I felt completely at home here.  The first people to reply were Gatsby and MickeyVickey.  I always felt so reassured here.  thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I got an email from Sonie and she is hanging in there, going through twins who are fourteen.  Gotta be tough to live through those teenager years!  MV

I feel so bad that I don't remember exactly. I do remember NewLifeGal because NYClady told me that she had a similar situation as mine. Luckily I don't have any pains and most of all no headaches. But my memory is shot. I just want to thank everyone on this site for being so caring and helpful.

MickeyVicky was the first to reply to me also.  I too remember soniek and of Ravenlady, AnotherKatie came in about that time, too.  This was a great site for reassurance for when I was new to complex cysts. I always try to give back to others  as much as  I have received from.

I am so glad you posted about SonieK I often have worried how she was doing. You and SonieK are the ones I remember the most on my first post. But in reality there were many wonderful women who were ready and willing to lend support and empathy.

There was such an out pouring of love and concern for Leslee and me from so many of you. Total strangers reading my posts from all over the world, educating me about OVCA,  giving us hope. Without this site I would not be the help I am to her.  The good things to try, the ones to stay away from.  Just the ability to talk with someone that has been where you are now is the best medicine in the world.  It has also given me some purpose again in life, to feel useful and giving. I just want to say thanks to all of you that have helped me, which in turn, has helped Leslee.  I was 70 years old before I got a computer, had no skills at all with it, even flunked typing in high school, but the internet used in this way, expands knowledge more so than any other means.

MickeyVicki was the first to reply to my post back in 2005 when I joined here when my Mom got dx with 3c ovca.  She was great and very knowledable.  I remember soniek and ravenlady also the originals in my time.  Many other I cant seem to rememember but all were very helpful to me when my family was first hit with this diseas and we were like blind little kittens that new nothing.  To this day this site is my main source when I have questions. Thanks guys.

Freshair, Star, Anna-Marie and Liz were the responders to my very firat one.  I did not readily remember because I was such a wreck that I just couldn't.  I do remember that Kimichi, Purrkat and Texas Granny were the first responses I got after my initial appointment.  You have all been so helpful to me and I appreciate it - especially since my doctors don't seem to be nearly as compassionate, worried or insightful!!

MV - hey....how are you????

I think my first post was to Dawn - Bluesgirl or something like that was her name.  If I remember correctly, I did not come here when I was diagnosised with OvCa but, when I found out that I may have Ovarian Remnant Syndrome.

Wow....SonieK...wonder how she is!!!!  Probably quiet a few have come and gone.
