Hello Helen - thanks so much for getting back to me - hope you find this OK. I've had a pretty awful week with the etop/cisplatin - the nausea just wouldn't go away at all. I didn't want to eat and even drinking became hard work which given I was supposed to knock back 2 litres a day posed some problems! I went for my 2nd infusion today and feel OK at the moment - full of strong anti-sickness steroids. They were very sympathetic about the sickness and the pharmacist has given me more drugs to add to the ones I had originally - I'm really hoping they do some magic stuff and make the coming week more bearable. Apparently they have even more up their sleeve as well! My daughter is bringing some frozen foods for me on Saturday she makes for her little ones - they are quite spicy and tasty.
I know what you mean about the garden - I've always loved mine and used to spend hours and hours working on it. My one objective now is to be able to do some stuff in the garden in the spring even if its later on. How many cisplatin cycles did you have? The etoposide capsules I have to take for just 15 days out ot 21 during the first 3 weeks - I hope there will be some difference once they are stopped - did you find that?
Hope your radio is still going OK. You are very brave starting this regime again! Love Jenny
Try the B12 sublingual with B6 and Folic Acid. Who knows its worth a try. The sublingual gets into your system better.
I have a garden also. I look forward to it so much in the spring. It doesn't get sun all day but its good enough so I'm going to start planning too! I grow a lot of greens-kale, collards, swiss chard, (I have to do better on the swiss chard this year) lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, basil, dandelion, herbs, etc. Every year I seem to make it bigger taking away the yard! I have some blueberries and raspberries, too. So I'm with ya on the garden!
Be well,
Helen
See if you can get on Lyrica. I've been on it and it seems to help.
