Why did ca125 drop from 125 to 90 with no chemo over three weeks.

My wife has ovarian cancer 111c. Following debunking she undertook chemo for 6 months and ca125 dropped to 30. That chemo round was completed and she went on to Avastin for a couple of months, but ca125 rose to 125, then three weeks later dropped to 90.( with no intervention)
Now we are told she must go back onto chemo ( different type) for the rest of her life. ( however long that may be).
But I wonder why the cancer count dropped, and could the new chemo, with attendant side effects, be worse than not going on it. Is it possible the bodies own immune system can keep the cancer in check even better than chemo.
