Ovarian Cyst Surgery.

Hi everyone! I am 32 and having a very large cyst removed next Tuesday along with my right ovary and Fallopian tube. I am kind of freaking out a little over the surgery! All these weird thoughts go through my head like what if I have some weird heart problem that I'm not aware of and the anesthesia kills me! Stuff like that. I know it's stupid but I just feel a little lost. I am normally very positive and my husband is so supportive, but I need others to talk to that have dealt with similar stuff. I appreciate any comments you have. :)

I am an old pro to surgery. This is how I do it. I print off full size pictures of family, friends, my pets, vacations, art I like, and anything else that makes me feel good. I take these to the hospital and look at them whenever I get upset or nervous.

I use imagery. I ride horses so I think of the whole process of getting the horse out in the field, brushing her, putting my saddle on, getting on, and riding. My husband used bicycling because that is what he likes. It can be anything that makes you happy and you think about in detail. You can't think of two things at once. I also read a book up until surgery sometimes.

Surgery is scarey. If you have ever had surgery and had no problem with your heart you will be fine. The doctor does not want to lose you it make him or her look bad. I had a narcisistic doctor do my surgery and he was so afraid of damaging his perfect record. I was fine.
