Ovarian complex cysy

I am 47 and have had a complex cyst for 2 years. We were just watching it. I also have endo and have lost one ovary to an endometrioma 15 years ago. I believe this is the same thing so I am going in for a total hyst. In the next few weeks. This cyst really hasn't changed. In fact it has decreased to just under 3 cm from 5. There is both solid and cystic components in it, no free fluid or interior walls. Do you all think this is an endometrioma? Again? I do have a gynoc doing the surgery. Has this happened to anyone else?

Actually...mine did decrease in size over the period of one year....and was indeed cancerous.  So, while that may be the rule usually...it is not always the case.

It is good that a gyn/onc is doing the surgery.  I hope it is benign!!

It really does sound like an endometrioma.  With your past history, this is very likely.  Ovarian cancer masses do not decrease in size.  So, I think you can breathe a little easier that this is probably a benign cyst.  Good luck with your surgery!
