Post menapause - cyst question

Hi Doctor and all,

I am only just barely into menapause . .maybe  a few months. 53 years old . HX  12/06 of possible dermoid but ruled out with pelvi MRI.

Are the following measurements referring to the size of the ovaries or the cysts?

Please help me determine what to do with the follow US report.

"Patient is s/p endometrial ablation (12/06) with hx of adenoyosis prior procedure. Hx of ovarian cysts and possible dermoid in left ovary.

**Findings**
The uterus demonstrates a heterogenous echotexture. The endometrial complex measures approximately .4cm.

There is a cyst involving the left ovary measuring 2.3 x 1.9 cm. The priviously identified echogenic lesion(date12/06) involving the left ovary is no longer seen. There is a lesion involving the right ovary measuring 1.4 x 1 cm which may represent a cyst with internal echos.

**Impression**
1. The uterus demonstrates a heterogenous echotexture.

2. There is a left ovarian cyst. There is a smaller lesion involving the right ovary with the internal echoes which represent  a complex right ovarian cyst. Further investigation may be performed if clinically indicated with a follow up u;trasound.

Hi There,
I am not worried about your cyst. I am very worried about your uterus. If I understand your report, you have a 4 cm thickness, a 4 cm endometrial complex is highly abnormal and may represent a cancer inside your uterus. Unfortunately, after endometrial ablation, it is not possible to do a D&C and get information about what is there. You may need a hysterectomy to sort that out. You need to see your gynecologist to discuss this issue.

If your endometrial thickness is 4 mm (0.4 cm), then I feel alot better!
take care

Thank you Dr. Goodman,

No worry on the Uterus it is only .4 cm (4 mm). Is it still OK to have  4 mm with "heterogenous echotexture". Would that be OK?

I thought you would be worried a bit about the " There is a smaller lesion involving the right ovary with the internal echoes which represent  a complex right ovarian cyst".  . . . since it mentions complex cyst.

What are your recommendations on a recheck for the "lesion" that may be complex, please.

Thanks again,
Sue
