Sharon's husband, Barry, asked me to post the following:

Sad to report that Sharon is not doing well at all - she was admitted to the hospital over here in Windsor quickly after an exam by her oncologist on Monday morning.
We went to see him because she was vomiting every morning for three days straight and had not pooped for several days.
They did CAT scans and other tests and a surgeon told her that her belly is "full of tumors"
We thought her bloating was due to fluid build-up (she had been on I.V. at home for about 2 weeks) but yesterday when they went in with a probe they said there is not enough fluid to drain...so all the extra mass around her belly is tumors..the surgeon also said the constipation is caused by tumors strangling her colon and constricting it... even a colostomy would not help...he says no more chemo (she had one infusion of Doxil last week)
So, needless to say we are all quite bummed out - her oncologist said yesterday she is not well enough to be at home for the foreseeable future...she is scheduled to speak to a social worker this morning regarding the possibility of living at the hospice.

That's about it for now - maybe you could pass along the gist of this email to her friends on the Medhelp forum if it seems appropriate...I don't know how to navigate those sites very well.

I hope they are able to make you as comfortable as possible, and get you into the hospice environment as soon as you are able. I am so sad for what you and your family are now having to deal with..I know you are a fighter Sharon, I will pray for you and yours, in the hopes of pain free days ahead, and peace in your lovely heart. I hope you know already how much you are loved.
