My doctor has found two small, mildly complex cystic masses, one disappeared, to be followed by another. One was .5 mms, and disappeared; the new one is about 2.5 cm x 1.7 cm, and appeared since the first sonogram; since it's partially septated, the radiologist called it 'mildly' complex.
Question: Are larger complex cysts considered more suspcious than small ones? If a person keeps having recurrent, suspicious cysts...I had one that was 21 cms x 10 cms, and had to be removed surgically, is that person at higher risk of developing ovarian cancer.
My doctor's been willing to remove my ovaries, both of them, for some time due to pain and heavy menstruation...it's a psychological pain, even at age 45, yes, especially with no children, and will also throw my hormone levels off, but I may go for it if I'm at significantly higher risk of developing ovarian cancer.
