Small mildly complex cystic masses

My doctor has found two small, mildly complex cystic masses, one disappeared, to be followed by another.   One was .5 mms, and disappeared;  the new one is about 2.5 cm x 1.7 cm, and appeared since the first sonogram; since it's partially septated, the radiologist called it 'mildly' complex.

Question:   Are larger complex cysts considered more suspcious than small ones?    If a person keeps having recurrent, suspicious cysts...I had one that was 21 cms x 10 cms, and had to be removed surgically, is that person at higher risk of developing ovarian cancer.

My doctor's been willing to remove my ovaries, both of them, for some time due to pain and heavy menstruation...it's a psychological pain, even at age 45, yes, especially with no children, and will also throw my hormone levels off, but I may go for it if I'm at significantly higher risk of developing ovarian cancer.

I had 2 large ovarian cysts removed last May along with a full hysterectomy. I had suffered from the time I can remember with Heavy periods and also bad cramps. I had endometriosis which destroyed my insides ...I am not aware that size matters regarding ovarian cysts..I would discuss your options with your doctor. I didnt want a hysterectomy..because of hormones, menopause etc... i was 40 at the time. I was told if there was cancer or anything susipicous I would need the hysterectomy. My Doctor felt that because I had endometriosis so long chances are the cysts would have kept coming back so it was in my best interest i guess..still not thrilled with the idea..I am on the estrogen patch to help ease the symptoms so it helps. I wish you luck and good health...Talk to your Doctor if you have any unanswered questions. I spent alot of time before weighing the pros and cons. Hope this helped. Gia :)
