Ovarian Cancer

I'm 31 and just had an US a few weeks ago. My doctor told me that I have a 1cm complex ovarian cyst that looks like it was filled with blood. Also, said it was hypervascular. Does this mean it's cancerous? I'm freaking out! I have to go back in a few weeks for a follow up and he said "it's not something you need to worry about now", which made me feel uneasy. Please help!!

As Alex said, it is unlikely to be cancerous if you do not have a family history / predisposition. Being blood filled, it sounds more like a hemorrhagic cyst. 1 cm is very small and there is a good chance the cyst will resolve on its own although it may take months. Monitoring it is a good plan as your doctor is doing.

Your chance of ovarian cancer is less than 2%. Most cysts are not cancerous. They did an ultrasound and knew it was cancer they had me to the oncologist the next day and in surgery in 5 days. I have the BRCA 1 mutation which gave me a 40% chance of ovarian cancer.
