Concerned-Right ovarian complex cyst

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this group!! I am 33 y.o. So recently, I was having right abdominal pain after my period that lasted about a week. I went to the ER and they did a CT scan which found the cyst 6X5 CM on my right ovary. Then, I went for a transvaginal US which wasn't detailed enough for my MD and he sent me for a MRI a week ago. I am being told it is a complex cystic lesion with protein, mucous, and looks like it may have hemmoragic fluid also. So, I received a call from the OBGYN this past Thursday and they wanted me to come in that day for a consult, yikes!! I forgot to mention that my CA 125 came back very elevated at 172 (however I'm being told that this is not accurate in young women).  This particular OBGYN felt more comfortable referring me to an OB/Oncologist, in which I have a conult with him this Thursday 9/17th to discuss everything and a laparoscopy.

I am trying to stay calm and the first OBGYN thinks I have Endometriosis since I told him about my symptoms for the past 9 months- a year, which include very painful periods (almost like spasms), bloating, fatigue, small blood clots during that time of the month, frquent urination. I only have the pain during my period and just recently after my last period which was when they found they ovarian cyst.

Any information and your personal experiences would be great to hear!! I think the worst part is just waiting around for the procedure to be done.

Thanks for listening :)

Hi Erin,

I can relate to where you are.   I remember how scared I was and the waiting is so hard.  I was 37 when I was dx with stage 1a ovarian cancer.  I had a 6cm complex mass.  My symptoms were exactly like yours, but, pressure from any mass causes those symptoms (even benign ones) so keep the faith that all will be ok.  Your gyn is doing the best think possible to make sure you have your surgery by a gyn/onc.  I am two years past diagnosis with no recurrence.  I will be praying for you and hope this waiting stage passes quickly.  It is so hard to not play the "what if" game but, try to keep your my busy and know you will make it through no matter what the dx!

Sorry about what you have been through.  Just want you to know that you are heading the right direction to get to the bottom of your symptoms.  It is very important that you seeing a GYN/Oncologist to perform your surgery which you already have.   I think you have done everything you can so far.  Just the waiting is very difficult which we all have been there.  I would not over googling on net to make yourself even more worrier since the final dx is not until Sept17th.   So try to enjoy every moment before surgery, maybe go out with friend, watch movie or shopping.  I remember very clearly that time about 3 yrs ago. I was keep telling myself to  hope for the best and prepare for the worst then.

BTW  I will have my second surgery on coming Thursday too.  I'll send some energy to you and have the best wish for you.

Just my thoughts, hope it help a little.

Peace and Love
