anyone with info re young girls with ovariancysts

Back for some support.  My 17 yr daughter was diagnosed with a complex septated ovarian cyst.  After seeing one gyn and New York University Medical Center, he has called in an oncologist for consultation.  All the blood work came back negative, but I understand that doesn't necessarily mean we're out of the woods.Tomorrow am we meet with oncologist and he concurs with gyn and they decide about surgery.  Probably to remove ovary.  Any suggestions, anything at all?  I have read that sometimes some of these tumor cells break off and deposit on other organs in the body.  Very scared.  Any information would be welcome.

Thanks for the information.  I was thinking something along those lines, but didn't want to appear, "ridiculous".  So I will ask if my tumor can be "bagged" as not to let cells fly wild in the body cavity looking for a new home.  thanks.  my cyst/tumor is 68mm x 42 mm.

One question to ask the doctor - if they have to do surgery and remove the ovary, what precautions will they take to contain the cyst so its contents are not spread around. I had a 10 cm cyst removed and my doctor somehow bagged it along with the ovary before removing it. I don't know the details but I'm just happy to know she was careful.
