I am sorry you had to go through all that. I am really glad it was not cancer. You made me very happy.
Alex
Good news today. My doctor was surprised and pleased to see a normal MRI with contrast. It only showed a slightly enlarged ovary no mass.
I follow up with him in 3 weeks for another ultrasound. He does not think it is anything to worry about. He thinks it could be a growth of stroma cells but, nothing worrisome.
Loads of blood work. All normal and several cancer markers. All normal.
I feel like I have been through the wringer. I am exhausted. No surgery unless something dramatically changes.
Feels like a real blessing.
Thank you for all your comments. It really helped. XOXO.
Keep me posted. I hope you do not need surgery.
Thanks again. I am very nervous. I am so sorry you had to go through that. I think no knowing is the hardest part. I just recovered last year from a small hernia surgery that turned into a year and half battle with a bacterial infection called C Diff. I am so not wanting surgery again. Frightened.
I do not have any of those symptoms but, this is very small he said.
God bless you.
Thank you.
I know you are worried. Just because they do a test does not mean the worst case scenario. The doctor is not even giving you the worst case scenario. If it were cancer you would have already had surgery. They do not play around. They saw my cancer on the ultrasound. The doctor called me the next day, Monday. Tuesday I was seeing the oncologist. I was having surgery Monday. The symptoms for ovarian cancer are mostly from a blocked bowel. You throw up your food and lose weight while looking pregnant.

Oh thank you so much for your kind words. I have my MRI on Wednesday. I am totally stressed out. The doctor is excellent but, he just cannot figure out what it is. So they have to check further. Happy about the CA 125 results but, the ultrasound shows what looks like a grape on my ovary that appears solid. He thought it was a hemorrhagic cyst but, did not go away now for 2 months.
My periods have been changing slowly over the last 5-7 years and I wonder if perimenopause is causing these abnormalities. I am so nervous.
98% of ovarian tumors are benign. You have a lifetime 1.4% chance of ever getting ovarian cancer. The chances are less with your age, If your CA125 is fine and the doctor says it it is not cancer I would not worry. They can see cancer it looks a certain way on tests.
Hopefully you won;t have to do surgery. It is not so bad if you have to they go in laproscopically with small incisions.
If you have to have surgery make sure they just take the mass and not the ovary if they can help it.
