side effects of chemotherapy

Hello!

My mother, almost 69,  did her last chemo at the end on January 08. Ten days ago her ca 125 was 33. No remaining tumor was there during 2nd surgery.
The only problem she has is stomachache sometimes if she doen't control the quantity of eaten food or some diarrhea. Her oncologist said that these are side effects of chemo that spoilt internal tissues.
Has anybody faced the same effects? Are there any other? Please answer me....
I am always afraid of any symtoms she feels, even if she sneezes.
Sorry for my English...I am writing from Italy and I am so happy to have found this site!!!!

I pray for all of you great women!!!

I am about 6 months since I finished chemo. I still have stomach / bowel problems.  I also still have the bone pain and numb feeet and fingers. I am happy your mom had no sign of cancer at her 2nd surgery. I pray she continues to heal and stays well for many years to come. Marie

From my last chemo to the 1st chemo for recurrence was about 10 months. The first few months I continued to have bone pain, stomach issues and fatigue. These slowly resolve the further out from chemo you get. However a lady I know with colon cancer, who has been in remission 6 yrs, still has the stomach problems and bone aches. It varies between the individual and age and what chemos they took. I hope your mother does well.
