How long does bloating/swelling last after laparoscopic surgery?

I’m 8 days post op recovery from a ruptured cyst and scar tissue removal. My belly looks as if I’m 4-5 months pregnant and it seems to be quite nosey at times as if something is moving around in there. Has anyone experienced this and can provide me any relief that this is normal. I’m also still feeling some back aches as I hope that is the gas still trying to leave my body.

You are still early post-op. The CO2 gas can cause a lot of bloating and discomfort. Something like Gas-x may help. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you! I’ll pick some up today and try walking a little more.
