Pelvic Ultrasound-Cyst found

Hi Doctors and/or other Medical Professionals!

I had a pelvic ultrasound 4/2/15. I am going to be 36 on 7/30/15. I have 2 children, 8 and 4, vaginal birth. I have Graves' Disease too. My periods are irregular it goes from the beginning of the month, to the middle to the end. It changes every month. This past period I got it 2 weeks apart. With both births I felt pain in my left side where my ovary is when I was pushing.

My Gyno said everything was ok, but I wanted a second opinion. Here are my results:

LMP 3/10/15
FINDINGS:
Uterus Anteverted
Size (cm) 8.2x4.2x5.1
Endometrial thickness (mm) 12
Endometrium and Myometrium
There is a heterogeneous endometrial echo complex.
There is an intramural myoma in the posterior corpus of the uterus, measuring 1 x 0.6 x 0.4 cm
Cervix: Several nabothian cysts are present

Right Adnexa
No significant abnormalities
Right Ovary Size (cm) 2.7x2.3x1.2
Left Adnexa: A crenulated corpus luteum cyst is present, measuring up to 1.3 cm
Left Ovary Size (cm) 2.4x2.9x1.6
Other: Small amount of fluid in the cul-de-sac

Impression:
Pelvic Ultrasound
Myomatous uterus
Heterogeneous endometrial echo complex with normal thickness. Please, correlate clinically.
Small amount of fluid in the cul-de-sac

Please, can you give a better understanding of all of this. Especially, about my cysts, heterogeneous endometrial echo complex and the "please correlate clinically" statement.

Thank you so very much for your time

Thank you so much for your reply. You're very knowledgeable. I'm so sorry about what you have been through.....

Your information puts me more at ease, but I will definitely talk about this again with my OB/GYN.

This has helped a lot and I appreciate you taking the time to answer me!

Welcome to the community. I am not a doctor or other medical professional but have learned a lot about gynecologic issues after being over-treated and harmed. You will need to ask your doctor to clarify but from what I know, here is what I can glean from the report:

- You have fibroids (myomatous uterus) which probably explains the "heterogenous" lining. They provided the dimensions of one fibroid, probably the most obvious and/or largest (which is actually quite small). Some fibroids (and polyps for that matter) can "hide" in the lining and make the lining appear thicker than it is. Fibroids can cause irregular bleeding so this could be the cause or at least part of the cause of your irregular cycles.
- Your lining is 12mm. It can get as thick as 16mm in the second half of the cycle so this is likely not a concern. And some of that thickness could actually be fibroids embedded in the lining and not easily differentiated on ultrasound.
- Corpus luteum cysts are a normal part of the menstrual cycle so no worries there.
- Nabothian cysts are not a problem.
- I am unsure why it says "please correlate clinically." Maybe it is just saying to correlate with the symptoms you have reported to your doctor (irregular bleeding).

Of course, thyroid problems can cause irregular cycles too so if your Graves is not under control, that could be part of the problem.

Hope this helps!
