Transvaginal results - DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS

I have just seen my report for my scan I had a few weeks ago. As been quite poorly & in pain. I have all the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer & am really worried.

This is what my report said:

The uterus is anteverted & appears normal in size, shape & echotexture with an endomertrium of normal calibre measuring 10mm.

The left ovary is of normal appearance.

A heterogenous area is noted within the right ovary measuring 16mm x 16mm the nature of this is uncertain.

No free fluid.

Another scan in a few weeks......

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??

Thanks,

Karen.

Thanks for your reply.

I was told by a doctor that is wasn't a cyst. They are uncertain what it is.....so a bit worried. Been getting bloated, can't eat properly, being sick, bleeding between periods, pain with sex, very very fatigue, daily pains in my pelvic region and back.

I had PID when I was younger & have lost my left fallopian tube. I am covered in adhesions & have suffered for 16 years. I just got the all clear for CIN 3.

Thanks again for your response.

Hello,
According to the report, the uterus is absolutely normal but there is a heterogenous mass in right ovary. It can be an ovarian cyst. Cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can form in the ovaries. They are common in child bearing age.  Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Get a repeat ultrasound or CT scan done after a few days. preferably after the periods.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
