cyst

I had a cyst the size of a basketball which had been growing inside me for a few years and then I started to get these hardcore pains in my stomach went to the hospital to find it was a cyst the size of a basketball  was wrapped around my ovary and fallopian tube which was full of poison and abouit ready to burst, had to have my left ovary and tube taken out. Now I have periods which last up to 3 weeks and heavy as hell and my periods are not monthly they happen when ever they want. Ive been to have an ultrasound scan to be told that my right cyst has been pushed back its not sitting where it should be is this normal. I don't get my results back for another week just wonderd if someone else is experiencing something similar

Wow, that is a large cyst! It sounds like the removal of your ovary has really messed with your hormones explaining the irregular bleeding. This does happen sometimes because all of our sex organs work together and removal of any one part or procedures that affect their functioning (such as tubal sterilization or removal, hysterectomy, ovary removal, endometrial ablation) can throw everything out of whack. Have you considered taking birth control pills to regulate your cycle?

I cannot speak for the remaining ovary being "pushed back" but things can get displaced to some degree when you have surgery. And scar tissue can also affect organs. But it would seem the most logical cause of the irregular bleeding would be hormones.
