oophrectomy

Has anyone had hormonal problems/pains after the removal of an ovary?

I am 7 weeks out from remova of right ovary and fallopian tube, i had a serous cystadnoma that encased my right ovary and attatched to the back left side of my uterus, it weighed 2 1/2 lbs, and i am still havng alot of pain and swelling, and i agree- my hormones are all over the place.i wish you luck.

It can take 3 - 4 months for your hormones to regulate and the remaining ovary to kick in.  I had peri-menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, mood swings, etc.) and strange periods but then everything was fine within a few months.  It is possible to get adhesion pain a few months after surgery as well.  If you go to the health pages (top right) there is an excellent posting on using ball rolling to deal with adhesions.  You might want to give that a try.
