ovarian cysts

Hello back I am a 30 year old women with a long history of ovarian cycsts and endometriosis. I have had serveral surgerys to include 2 cyst removals 5 laparoscopic surgerys and 3 secections. Now back in october I had an MRI done and revealed serveral cysts on right overy with the largest one being 1.4 cm in diameter. I recently had to go to ER due to serve pain on right side and they informed me that I have a cyst measuring 9.5cm they sent me home and said to go to the Gyno that morning I went and he stated to wait it out and come back in 4 wks to see if there is any change, but my bigest concern is that there was some fluid around the right overy and they stated that is may be leaking or another one may have ruptered? Now I really am at a loss as to what to do. I have pain in the lower right side up to my back around my kiddney area and down into my inner thigh and with pain meds I am still hurting. Should I wait or get a third opion?

Given your history with cysts and endometriosis, I would get a third opinon. With a cyst that large, surgery will be needed.. my gyno didnt even play the waiting game with my 2 surgerys, my cysts were 5cm and 7cm, on in each ovary the first time, I left his office and was sent right to the hospital tht day to be and add on for surgery. Second time around, it was a 3 month wait for surgery, thts it. I would absolutely get things checked out again by another dr. Especially if you're getting pains in your kidney area etc you want to make sure that this isnt going to cause another other medical issues for you.

Good luck! You're in my thoughts and I hope you get this resolved ASAP to be pain free.

I'm surprised with that history and the size of your cyst that they did not do surgery, especially with your pain.  After going to the ER for the same pain your describing, I was diagnosed with my first cyst on my right ovary... they told me that due to the fluid around my ovary and behind my uterus that it was likely a hemorrhaging cyst.  It is incredibly painful, even with Oxycodone (though mine is only 1 inch.)  I'm concerned, as well, about the severity and broad span of the pain.  I really would suggest that you get another opinion or demand that something be done.  My docs said that when a cyst is over 5cm and it is causing incredible pain that surgery is definitely indicated.  I wish they would go in and just remove mine because I don't think I can handle this pain for another 3-4 weeks, as they are suggesting to give it time to resolve.  Good luck to you.  I'm sorry you're in so much pain.
