It's only been a few days since your surgery. Do watch out for fever or bad smell or active bleeding/oozing from the belly button area. Right now it still sounds like the usual leftover gunk from surgery - old blood and meds. Are you taking showers now? The running water helps to rinse off the goo. Don't poke around in the belly button. Even though it seems like your hands are clean, they can still carry trace amounts of bacteria. Take care.
thanks for the reply. feel like i have put loads of weight on but have actually lost!!! just look so much bigger!!! my 2 small incisions below by bikini line havnt wept at all but the inside of my belly button is sticky and horrid!!! yuck!!
Oh yes, it sounds normal. It took at least a week for all the gunk around the incisions to wash out. My belly seemed bloated at first and then took weeks to completely flatten out again (well, in my case since I'm 56, let's just say to get back to where it was before surgery). Remember, the incision may be small but they do a lot of poking and pushing things around in there. It takes time for your insides to settle down.
