Hello, sorry...but I don't think that qualifies as PTSD at all. What was the major trauma (victim of violent attack, witnessing horrors, car accident, etc)??
It just sounds like he felt rejected and sad and then obsessed with his looks so he won't be rejected anymore...?  Hope he finds more happiness.

Hi, I am looking for help with my nephew...I believe he may be suffering from PTSD but just am not sure...He was told as a child he would be no taller then 5 5...My sister, being the wonderful mother she is, changed his diet and he is now 18 at 5 9 ... BUT...about 1 - 2 years ago he pretty much stayed to himself until he starting seeing this wonderful girl...He gets somewhat jealous but yet does things that he knows he would get upset over...About 6 months ago he got hurt by her and had his first drink, which was almost his last...He ended up in ICU in an induced coma because he drank almost 2 pints of vodka and wiskey...The doctors were very worried he had brain damage but he came out GREAT...he seemed to have a new lease on life..He showed emotions BUT then about 2-4 weeks later things changed, for the worse...He started obsessing about his size, he always had but this was way too much..He ord. "vitamins" that after 6 weeks we found had steroids (legal) yeah ..He now weighs close to 150 - .Now he is obsessing about traveling and getting plastic surgery,,,He is a very good looking boy, im not just saying that either..He knows it but i dont think he really knows...He gets things from people for free and they all say, we love you, you are soo beautiful.. Now his mother has health issues but he does not look to deep into it where his older brother is always on top of what she needs...He seems to express anger and everything is a joke...Could this be a possible symptom or am I just reading way to much into all this??I am very worried...Thank you
