You are through the worst of it. It's vicodin not oxy or heroin. Also these headaches are worse from the vicodin. Tell your doc but I really think you are through the worst of it. Drink plent of water, not caffeine, eat well. Take ibuprofin for your headache. You are on your way to having a baby and being clean.

I did get into the obgyn... The practice has three dr's, one of whom I had never met till today.. I told her exacltey what was goin on. I told her that I had done my research and know that the effects on the baby during withdrawls is very dangerous. She didn't say anything!!!!! NOTHING at all about that. Almost like she didn't hear me or didn't care.
She also told me that since it had been 24 hours since I had my last dose that I would only have to go thrue withdrawls for about another 24 and the worst would be over. She refered me to a pain management center and sent me out the door with a script for 20 tylenol 3's.
Sandee has offered you some sound advise and I suggest that you take it. You must put your shame aside and think about the baby right now. It's no longer about just you.
Actually, there really isn't anything to be ashamed of. Many ppl go throught this. Seek professional hel asap. You can also do this without anyone having to know about your drug use.
Please take care and good luck,

I want to stress that you have to see a doctor right away. Please do not wait. I had a friend who was taking hydrocodone and she stopped them cold turkey and she miscarried. I want you to understand how very important this is.
If you are going to use narcotics for pain control while pregnant you have to take precautions for the baby and the most important thing is to tell your OB so she can monitor the baby. You could cause the baby harm with these medications and you would not want that I know.
I went off oxycontin and hydrocodone when I had my children. It was very hard and I was bedridden mostly but my girls are perfect. I did not feel like the risk to them was worth me taking the medications. This was my decision just as it is yours. Do the research on this and decide for yourself. I do not want to tell you that you should not take narcotics but keep in mind that the effects on the baby will be there forever. I felt if I could make it through nine months to have a healthy baby it was well worth it to me. many women do take these and the baby is fine but you have to decide what is right for you.
If you have any questions please let me know. Also you may need a high risk OB-GYN.
Going through withdrawal is very dangerous for the baby and could cause you to miscarry. PLEASE go to the ER or get an emergency appointment with your OB-GYN.
This is serious. You have to tell you OB that your taking these medications so she can make sure everything is okay with the baby. It is very dangerous not to do so. Many do take these medications while pregnant so do not be embarrassed because this is your baby's life.
Please see a doctor asap!!!
