Alternative methods for pain relief

How does anyone feel about the legal use of medical marijuana for pain relief? Anyone tried it, and with what results?

California has always been the leader in these issues. I am very surprised it is not legalized there.

You are probably too young to remember that the "Hippie Movement" began in CA or the place to be in CA was "Haight-Ashbury."  Haight-Ashbury is a district of San Francisco, California, named for the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets. Goggle it and you'll find some information as to what I am talking about.

CA has been known as a more democratic state. I obviously don't live there - you may find better "climate" info by searching reading up on their state government, etc.

Good Luck on you move!

Thanks for the response! I'm also pro-legalisation. That being said, I'm moving to California sometime in the next few months, and looking forward to discovering what attitudes are like out there. Any idea?

Hello Fellow Floridian,

I'm an old hippie - who never used marijuana. That said, it's my opinion that it should have been legalized years ago.

I do know ppl that have successfully used the drug for medicinal purposes. It's been effective in controlling the pain and SX (symptoms) of Crohn’s Disease. In fact I have a close relative that has been totally SX free for 10 years. This person had an extreme case and was taking over 30+ pills a day - and was still very ill and symptomatic. Today, no SX.  It also reduces or eliminates nausea in cancer patients. It can also be effective in controlling Chronic Pain - and more. Medical Research confirms my beliefs.

Unfortunately legalization is a slow process. Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form. Florida is not one of them - with our current Attorney General I don't think that will change.

Only four states have legalized marijuana use for medical and recreational purposes - Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Colorado.

It's obvious I am pro-legalization. However I do not support illegal use of marijuana. The legal system will eat you up - and if you're in pain management (PM) with opiate therapy you'll lose PM - as you will be caught.

Best Wishes,
~Tuck
