ok i'll rephrase since it was taken the wrong way

i wasnt obtaining meds without a script. i was accused by my family doctor of being a drug seeker even though i had signed a pt pain contract with them. my post actually states that it has been 1 year exactly that i started seeing them. and once a month for about the 1st 3 months i got 1 refill no problem.4th month they stated i needed to come in to see them, even though nothing had changed i still didnt have insurance which was the whole reason for seeing them as most specialist docs are big money. so 4th month i go to see them so they can make thier 90 dollars and i got 2 refills then all of a sudden they stop giving me refills i call and the pa says i have to go to an ortho doc which as i had explained to the pa i already had been already had an mri with contrast and it showed both rotator cuffs and labrums tore and i was pretty sure that there hadnt been any miraculous healing . so anyway it was either suffer or scrounge up 275 dollars to see him b/c we still couldnt do surgery b/c i had lost my health ins. ok so i go see him and he is like why are you here i said b/c my family practice doc insisted i see an ortho he says well ok nothing has changed but as soon as i pick up insurance let him know and in the meantime i am told to go back to the fam. doctor or spend each weekend at the er, now the ortho doc went ahead and gave me a script for the same rx i had been getting but it had been almost 45 days since my last script. ok so 1 month after seeing the ortho i called my family doc and told the nurse everything that i had been sent to ortho he gave me  a script and sent me back to family doc and now 30-35 days later i am back to square 1. she says well you are just gonna have to come in for an ofc visit. of course i do they gotta get another 90 dollars out of me i make appt go in the pa walks in says oh well whats going on now ? i said well just as suspected i hadnt received any touch from God and received a healing so what now ? she says ok i am gonna give you enough pain meds for 1 month i am happy to get the script b/c trying to sleep , bendover pickup my daughter things like are impossible. so i did my best instead of taking two 7.5 mg percocets a day i took 1 and cut it in half usually i wound up taking 1 1/2 trying to make it last. so i am now beginning  to the see the light and the light is telling me oh well i am sorry sir but in this country we dont have time or patience to deal with exmarines who have worked and paid into the system legit for 24 years but now since you have fallen on hard times we just cant keep doing this for you sorry sir  you are just gonna have to hurt. (THATS WHAT I WAS MADE TO FELL LIKE). anyway of course when it rains it pours about 2 months after my last visit to doc i awoke to one of the worse pains i have ever had worse than my kidney stones, so i go to the er they seem to think i have a pinched nerve and they give me some ****** little tic tac vicodins enough to last 2 days 15 pills they dont even make a dent in the pain. anyway desperate for relief b/c in spite of the pain frpm my other problems i have been pounding the pavement looking for work and had hoped to have some calls by then. so i called family doc they bring me in say ok here is 60 7.5 mg percocets we are referring you to a neuro doc .well hell that is just great i love throwing 400-500 dollars to a doctor just to get a diagnosis i what we already knew. well the neuro was booked it took me 41 days to see him, finally get to see him and he orders an mri luckily there are still some few places with compassion and caring for people in pain and the local hospital did my mri for a charity case which that really makes me feel good about myself. anyway  i had been out of pain med b/c it took 41 days to get in to see neuro doc and family doc only gave me 30 day supply. well neuro doc must think i am faking it or something b/c he will not write me a script for even 10 vicodins he wants to see mri results 1st well luckily the hospital only took 8 days to see me i had ruptured c4 c5 c6 c7 discs along with a bunch of misalignment anyway he  gave me 20 5mg tic  tac vicodins and saids ok no more pain meds til u have your surgery and oh by the way you need to come up with 4000 dollars down payment to get you into surgical rotation well we all know how great our economy is and me having piles of cash it took me 2 months to get $ so for those 2 months i didnt get any pain relief. finally get surgery upon release from hospital he gives me a 5 day suipply of 5 mg percocets i go and see him on 5th day he checks everything and gives me a 4 day supply of 5 mg percocets 14 days later i go to get xray to look at screw placement it looks god still got some pain not as bad though so he gives me a 5 day supply of vicodin and says after that to follow up with my family doc for any pain relief . anyway i did well u know some pain i guess about the 4th week i had been out of neck collar a couple days and i dont know what happened but i awoke to some really terrific pain for about 2 days i finally couldnt take it anymore i go and see my fam dr. 1st thing i get talked down to like a 3rd grader b/c the girls up front scheduled  me with the doctor who owns the place and not my pa. i said hey doc i didnt know i called and they set me up anyway he gives me some pain meds and 3 days later i get a letter telling me i am a drug addicted abuser  of scripts and he will no longer see me!! to top it off what ever system they all use i am now flagged as a drug seeker. now i ask you am i a drug seeker ? hence the name in my title.

Hi Ponycarforme,
  Have you had an issue with the VA and can no longer count on them for your medical care? I am wondering why you have not turned to them for help. It is NOT wise to use illegal methods to obtain pain medications.
You need a doctor to oversee your medical health as well as your pain management issues.
There are also state and government agencies available to help you.
I do not understand why you were red flagged unless you failed to tell the doctor you were obtaining pain meds from tht you also had received some from other doctors and they found out through the pharmacy or the other doctors.
They frown on this and will red flag you and it is very , very hard to find a PM doctor after this happens.
If you did indeed tell the doctor you were getting the pain meds from that you also had got some from other doctors then I would suggest writing a letter explaining the situation to be included in your medical records.
I am sorry your in this position. it is a very tough situation to be in when your in need of pin management.
I hope you do find help. Keep us updated and we will help all we can:)

Absolutely, Sara is right you need to go to the VA. They will take care of  you. How long were you in? How long have you been out?
