I have been on methadone almost 40 years. I got on when I was 21 trying to kick a heroin habit that I had had since I was 15. I tried to get off of it twice unsuccessfully. So when I was about 30 I decided I would just stay on it. I have lived a very normal life since then. Kids, job, husband and now semi-retirement. I am 61 now. I have neuropathy in my feet. There is really no good reason for me to have this as I am not diabetic or any of the other things that causes it. It started slowly about 10 years ago. I am on 40mgs now. I don't find it has hurt my cognitive functioning at all. I also have extremely bad varicose veins but I am not sure if that would be from the methadone or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
